WHEN SOMEONE DRESSES REALLY SLUTTY AT THE OFFICE

hollywoodassistants:

Girls’ reaction:

Guys’ reaction:

Last night, on twitter, I unfollowed a sometimes-friend for tweeting some of that bullshit women-who-hate-women bullshit. We’re not good enough friends for me to say, “Why are you being such a misogynist here?” so I unfollowed so I wouldn’t have to break out in a cold stressed-out sweat every time I see her tweet that kind of thing.

Then I woke up and saw this. I don’t know who runs this tumblr, which I REALLY LOVE. But if you absolutely need to give people shit for the way they dress because you think it’s slutty (“She’s wearing one of those outfits where she is actively having a lot of personally satisfying sex in the outfit and all times with multiple partners”) please don’t drop it off on a tumblr I really enjoy. I mean, also don’t do it in person. Maybe just don’t do it? Maybe just let women live their lives without feeling shamed for every single choice they make?

This is what a feminist looks like.

…

Rather than forcing an expansion of abortion, Arons adds, the law may actually lead to a decline in private insurers covering abortion, because it “adds new administrative hurdles to obtaining abortion coverage and invites states to ban abortion coverage.” What’s more, she says, because more women will be eligible for Medicaid under the law, “a whole new class of women will now be subject to the Hyde Amendment’s ban on abortion coverage for women enrolled in Medicaid.”

Obama is not a fucking feminist.

"But I did want to ask about the way she got pregnant — at the party in the first issue of Buffy Season 9, after Buffy became black-out drunk. Her behavior at that party has already bothered some fans, and to learn she got pregnant there, and doesn’t know by whom, will bother some fans even more, especially those who want Buffy to be, well, more responsible."

— HOW COULD SOMEONE BE SO IRRESPONSIBLE AS TO BE RAPED? Good question, Entertainment Weekly.

"But the truth is, I don’t know if I have the budget for any donations, because then I would have to dip into my monthly allotment for Susan G. Komen products. And I’m not sure I am prepared to take that radical step."

— Feministing’s FUCK YOU to Susan G. Komen’s Krew.

"[S]hame is not a catalyst for change; it is a paralytic. Anyone who has ever carried extreme personal shame knows this. Shame doesn’t make you stronger, nor does it help you to grow, or to be healthy, or to be sane. It keeps you in one place, very, very still."

"The problem is that last night’s 30 Rock appeared to be a defense of a good, but dimwitted guy, who sometimes says stupid things. The message seemed not just a defense of the Tracy Jordan character, but the real-life actor who plays him. The problem is that Tracy Morgan didn’t just perpetrate some thoughtless microaggression against gay people a la Jordan. (In the show, Jordan says if he were “turned into a gay” he would spend the day looking at his own “junk.”) Tracy Morgan said God didn’t make gay people because “God don’t make mistakes;” that gay people need to stop being such “pussies” and whining about bullying and violence against them; and that if his own son were to come out to him, he would “stab that little nigga to death."

EXACTLY. This is exactly what sucked about that episode.

"The majority of Jews have remained silent for a variety of reasons: There is a sense that we Jews should stick together and not attack one another. There’s a reluctance even to name Jewish fundamentalism as such, and recognize it for what it is. There’s the false nostalgia of, say, “Fiddler on the Roof,” which depicts Haredim as cuddly and quaint, rather than, as they often are, deliberately ignorant of modernity, misogynist, complicit in violence and actively desirous — as evidenced by the recent Channel 10 report in Israel — of taking over Israeli civic institutions."

This is, in my opinion, the greatest threat to Judaism that exists today. The Haredim are a really big problem.

DREAMZONES: Anointed in Jizz: The Facial As An Act of Radical Acceptance

garlandgrey:

Yesterday Jezebel posted an article by Hugo Schwyzer — “He Wants to Jizz on Your Face, but Not Why You Think” — that discussed the sexual politics of the facial. His thesis was that people who view facials as degrading should instead view them as a unique opportunity to relieve their partner…

“If there is anything I know about Feminism, it’s that not nearly enough people are getting jizzed on and this is a crisis.”

Garland Grey, I love you.
